Apogee Corporation raises over £6,000 for Teens Unite

Apogee Corporation has recently run an ‘Active Challenge’ to fundraise for cancer charity Teens Unite.

09/10/2023 - Maidstone, UK

Over the past two months, 23 teams made up of Apogee employees, friends, and family worked together to walk, run, cycle, and swim as much as possible to fundraise for Teens Unite charity.

The team completed an incredible 31,714.3 km in just nine weeks, and managed to raise over £6,000 for Teens Unite.

Every year, 2,555 teenagers and young adults are diagnosed with cancer – but thanks to the support provided by Teens Unite, they are enabled to lead happy and fulfilling lives.

Apogee’s ‘Active Challenge’ initiative required employees to track their physical activity for two months on fitness app, Strava, with prizes offered to the teams and individuals who raised the most money, covered the furthest cumulative distance, and who came up with the best team name. Apogee has also donated a set amount per participant to support the cause.

As well as fundraising for a fantastic cause, the challenge also promoted wellbeing across Apogee by encouraging employees to take active breaks throughout the day, contributing to a positive physical and mental health culture at the business.

Teens Unite does such important work in supporting teenagers living with cancer.

I am delighted with the incredible amount of money we managed to raise for this cause, and would like to thank everyone who participated in the challenge or donated to Teens Unite.

“A huge thank you to the Apogee team for taking on the Active Challenge. The incredible amount of money raised will help to support young people who are living with cancer and the lasting impact on their emotional, physical, and mental health,” adds Jodie Pezzani, Fundraising Manager at Teens Unite.

Over the years, Apogee has managed to raise £13,300 for Teens Unite Charity – running a similar challenge in 2021.

This initiative is part of Apogee’s commitment to driving a wide range of fundraising and volunteering opportunities for employees, and to positively impact local communities, charities, and organisations.
