Printers eventually run out of toner. The quicker you replace them, the faster you can get back to work. If you want to learn how to replace your printer’s toner swiftly and correctly, follow these steps.

When to replace your toner

Most printers will prompt you when your toner is getting low. At this point, you do not need to replace the toner. There is still some toner left in the cartridge. Replacing the toner now will waste toner, money and is harmful to the environment!

However, you should make sure you have a replacement cartridge on hand. To reduce downtime, ARMA provides you with remote monitoring. When the toner levels go under a pre-determined level (some clients will be 10% others up to 20%) an alert is sent and once approved by you a new toner is sent.

Once your toner is truly empty, your printer will prompt you. At this point you will need to replace the toner for the machine to continue working.

Steps for replacing toner

Step 1 Open your printer and remove the old toner – making sure to recycle your old toner. Please enquire with Apogee on how we can help you do this safely.

Step 2 Take your new toner and gently shake it from side-to-side to activate it.

Step 3 Place your new toner into the printer and close the door.
