Apogee Invests Over a Quarter of a Million Pounds in Employee Training

Investment marks a significant step in the organisation’s cultural transformation, bringing people and their needs to the fore.

The £250,000 investment is directed towards a breadth of education and upskilling initiatives across the organisation, encompassing apprenticeships, professional qualifications, leadership and management and sales training programmes. Designed to support employees at every stage of their career at Apogee, the training combines role-specific coaching and mentoring with companywide upskilling drives in IT and compliance. With the Apogee Learning Academy eLearning platform underpinning the upskilling effort, employees can also access 24/7 virtual courses and webinars that fit around flexible working patterns.

Apogee continues to accelerate its cultural transformation, with the investment marking a new chapter for the business and its people as they adapt and transition to the new post-pandemic shape of work. The recent appointment of Marion Brooks, Chief People Officer, accompanies this step change, which has already garnered positive results: the organisation’s Glassdoor rating has increased by a remarkable 63% in the space of just 5 months.

Numerous other benefits have been seen across the business. Not least of which, an increased investment in learning and development leading to higher employee engagement. With industries continuing to be impacted by the Great Resignation, Apogee recognised the need to build an open and supportive professional culture to aid retention. By developing and promoting internal talent, Apogee is providing the optimum training, development opportunities, and qualifications to promote people from within. This, in turn, is fuelling business growth and increasing productivity.

Apogee currently has over 50 job opportunities across the UK, Republic of Ireland, Jersey, and Germany. The company’s renewed focus on people and culture has opened a wealth of opportunities for developing talent, with the HR team growing in size to support key equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Aurelio Maruggi, CEO at Apogee, comments: “We are experiencing an exciting period of growth at Apogee, and our people are at the heart of this expansion. Our recent investment of £250,000 in employee training and development highlights our commitment to the skills, knowledge, and experience of our employees. In the post-pandemic workplace, people and culture must always be at the fore. We are proud to be leading this transformation by celebrating experiences and behaviours, as well as profits.”

More employee initiatives are in development, with Apogee sparking important conversations around sustainability and mental health. Employees have been supported in undertaking various charity initiatives, including a beach clean and fundraising activities for Rethink Mental Illness.
