Apogee employees took action this Earth Day, heading to coastlines across the UK and Crown Dependencies to support local councils and environmental organisations in protecting marine environments and wildlife.
On Friday 30th June, our Marketing team spent the day volunteering with local charity Communigrow.
Based just up the road from Apogee HQ in Maidstone, Communigrow is a charity committed to promoting and teaching the local community about the benefits of growing local, fresh, and affordable produce in an organic and sustainable way.
The team enjoyed a tour of the farm, learning about the various growing techniques and ecosystems tended to by volunteers and workers every day, before rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in!
The main project of the day was to renovate Communigrow’s visitor centre / office space. The team were tasked with transforming the shed into a freshly painted hub, as well as moving some large items of furniture into the new office space - a repurposed shipping container.
As well as being a highly educational experience, the day was also a great opportunity for team-building and spending some time out of the office in the fresh air.
