A huge aspect of conforming to the current guidelines is ensuring that we limit contact as much as possible on shared surfaces and devices to stop the spread of any germs and limit unnecessary or unwanted contact with colleagues and co-workers, so we have developed the concept of touchless printing, enabled through print management software.
Depending on your existing environment, this can be implemented via a ‘fast release’ solution which involves the authentication on a device from an ID card, key fob or RFID sticker. Once authenticated at a device, all print jobs would be automatically released. Alternatively, Apogee can provide a full ‘secure release’ solution if users scan a QR code on a device which is linked to a secure app.

Since the change in the government guidelines we are starting to see an increase in businesses making the transition back to the workplace. Whether that be a full return or making use of the hybrid style of working between an office and from home.
RFID Tag
RFID Tags (Radio Frequency Identification) are a type of tracking system that uses smart barcodes in order to identify items. Tags typically come in the form of small stickers that can be stuck to a phone or smart device which will automatically release your print jobs when you authenticate yourself at the device.
Scanning of an ID card / Key Fob
Using a personal identification card or fob to release your print jobs that are waiting in the queue will allow a fast release as soon as you scan the detection point.
Scanning of QR Code
Each MFD will be fitted with a QR code (Quick Response Code) which can then be scanned using your mobile phone or device. Using Apogee Cloud Print technology users will select the print jobs they wish to release via a secure app.
To make this as simple as possible for your organisation, the four touchless printing solutions have been designed to deliver fast and / or secure release of your documents to your designated devices.
The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way businesses will operate and prompted necessary changes to be made, minimising and where possible preventing physical contact with others and shared devices. We appreciate adhering to the government guidelines in the workplace can be a challenge, so to learn more about the implementation of our touchless printing solutions, please get in touch today.
